Fifa 'not concerned' about hooligans at Russia World Cup
Fifa president Gianni Infantino says he is "not at all concerned" by the threat of hooliganism at next year's World Cup in Russia.

At Euro 2016, there were violent clashes between Russian and English supporters in Marseille.

One Russian fan, speaking as part of a BBC documentary to be broadcast on Thursday, said trouble is "100% guaranteed" at the 2018 World Cup.

Infantino also said the 2026 event could be hosted by multiple countries.

But he said the countries would "ideally" be close to one another for "the ease of travel".

Football's world governing body agreed in January on a 48-team World Cup in 2026. The bidding process has not begun yet for the tournament.

"It is perfectly in line with our sustainability and legacy to maybe bring together two, three, four countries who can jointly present a project with three, four, five stadiums each" said Infantino, speaking during a visit to Qatar on Thursday.

'I feel for the few game English who didn't have enough game back up to avoid the nasty kickings they got for their efforts.'

That resonates with me

Filmed lad in the square, caught cold really stood his ground, can see the footage in my mind now. Never called anything, just there, not a big lad but fucking handy, the rest had it away and he took a beating yet still got up and carried on - 20 of him would have put the brakes on let alone a proper firm

As Norm said, in truth they had a field day with regular supporters and pissed up lemons, backed by the locals and plod too. Against proper lads it was another issue.

They said as much as well.

The kids fighting in the fields and forests are not the firms. Those fights are just auditions for wannabee members. It's a good way to see who can handle themsleves when it's chaos. There are always two or three who stand out, and they'll be the ones joining up on a match day.

I still say it's foolish to label all the russians bullies. I'd say, despite a few absolute loony scumbags, who went too far, most of the footage I saw was them taking the piss by looking to get up close and land punches, whereas the English, who despite a few who went in, were mostly throwing bottles and chairs and backing off when the russians got too close.

I feel for the few game English who didn't have enough game back up to avoid the nasty kickings they got for their efforts.

Met a bird from work in Southend once with her fella and a mini buss full of blokes who went there with them on a beano from Kent.

Ended up in a mass fight outside Papillon and it was just funny as the other mob had a chap in a wheelchair with them and where they steamed in, they just left the poor Bastard sitting there in the middle of the road with cars having to drive around him :o)

Got a proper kicking that night!!

Re: Fifa 'not concerned' about hooligans at Russia World Cup
You not seen the footage of that one inside the ground NS?

No idea if the chap in the wheelchair was English, but he was knocked spark out by a fanny pack wearing, knuckle dusting Ruski.

Think the poor fucker was left there by his handler who was on his toes with the rest.

I know someone (SUFC) who hit an Orient fan in a wheelchair... happens in this country as well... I don't think he had a knuckle duster mind you... he had one of those Gauntlets with a mace hanging from it....

Oh I'm using poetic licence there Grumps like you did...

We the only country that actually ban our hooligans? 1000's can't follow England abroad now can they?

Let them out for a last hurrah over there I reckon.

No doubt the Russians in Marseille can have a tear up, but charging cross a terrace knocking out people sitting in wheelchairs who can't run was pretty fucking embarrassing. Poor cunts already a window licker and then some twat with a knuckle duster on smashes them in the face.

Re: Fifa 'not concerned' about hooligans at Russia World Cup
The fist fights in a feild were hilarious. They may be fit and toned but none of them could fight. Looked they were really trying but their punches looked as lethal as a twelve year old boy's. Was telling that after the fight despite hitting and kicking carrying on when someone was down there was not one injury or any blood on either side. Was like a school fight.
This lot would shit thenselves if they ever came up against proper hoolies or The ICF in their prime.

not enough getting back handers off one hosting country, and now the cunts want to split the event and quadruple the brown envelopes. the whole organisation should be disbanded, and those working within it locked up for a very long time

Re: Fifa 'not concerned' about hooligans at Russia World Cup
Back to the OP.
You have to hope FIFA shown up for the corrupt incompetant old fools that they are. Should have been disbanded after Blatter.
Everyone but them it seems can see trouble at the next WC a mile off. If someone gets killed or seriously injured they will have blood on their grubby little hands!

Agree, I started going on my own late 70's and al through the 80's, saw some very naughty stuff but never did get caught in it.

Got a good smack in the chops by a west ham fan funnily enough, beats me who we were playing (wimbledon i think) the same evening Chelsea were in the 2nd leg of the semifinal of the league cup vs Sunderland, traveled with my Chelsea supporting brother from home via the tube, he got off at Kings Cross, agreed to meet after the game at Kings Cross...
The twat was reading the Chelsea program on the platform when i met him..a group of 5/6 West ham saw us..one smacked me straight in the gob.. he was going to keep on until I showed him my west ham program... everyone cracked up laughing.

Except me.

Same here, regular in the late 70s and 80s and never got into any bother. Only time came remotely close was Spurs away 81 after we'd won 4-0 and that was from. West Ham chucking milk bottles as I'd got mixed in with Spurs fans after the game walking back.

The Russians are cowardly neanderthals,l lack8ng any sense of irony or humility, if Ali G did foitball hooligans it would be these arrogant pricks.

At home yeah maybe... away from home... no chance... I have seen plenty of people home and away that were not firm take a dig... we obviously never went to the same games in the 80's then PD...

Re: Fifa 'not concerned' about hooligans at Russia World Cup
In my experience you only got in trouble if you wanted to be part of it. I use to go all the time in the 80's and never got a clump once and I can't recall it ever happening to anyone else I know that never looked for beef, so I stand by what I say. But I heard the Rusky's were just clumping anyone out in France.

`but these cunts are savages with no morals or codes or conduct at all`.

They do with each other... don't see too many blades, bricks or squirt when they are going toe to toe in the fields etc... and to be fair the majority of stuff going on back in the day in this country was not too much code of conduct... I have seen plenty of innocent bods take a shoeing...
